Tick off what matters to your family. Each section covers a key area of your parenting plan. When you're done, print it or share it with your co-parent.
Common Questions
Is a parenting plan legally binding?
Not automatically — but it can be made legally binding by a court order (consent order) if both parents agree. It's strong evidence of what you've both agreed to, even without court involvement.
What if we can't agree on something?
Start with what you DO agree on. Mediation can help with sticking points — it's free or low-cost through the
Family Mediation Council. Tick what you can, and use the notes to flag disagreements.
How detailed should this be?
The more specific, the less room for future conflict. "We'll split holidays fairly" is vague. "Parent A has Christmas Eve to Boxing Day in even years, Parent B in odd years" is clear.
